Marta Togg x Saanen 2nd freshener
Thats the sight that greets me every morning, and whether its good or bad for the goat its still 4 lts a day....but I wish she would slow down on that there milk as her bag is gonna be verrry droopy when she has given us 4 or 5 yrs worth of kids.

;D Ooh, I bet she is so pleased when she has been milked, thats some weight to carry round......!!! Our old Toggie gave a heavy yield even into old age, and she remained firm and not too saggy, and her teats were not over big either.
My friend an AN who was a heavy milker, and she was named Booby!!

we decided not to sell any of our kids from her or the new import Saanens (got those last month, twin doe kids) as we do NOT want anyone else getting hold of our gene pool lol, if thats what Marta does now....(giggling to myself here) everyone always bragged that their goat wa giving 3 lts a day and I would be lucky after a couple of yrs to get that from THAT!!!!! goat they used to say lol well eat ur hearts out babies cos Mart does it after 2 yrs and a 1 lt more than you, and NO your not getting her kids to service you does lol
Go on then tell me off for being selfish lol

bless her, what a pair!! ;)

Do you milk her once a day or twice? If she is giving that much in one milking and you are milking her once a day, I would up it to twice! And you might get even more milk.

.....that would be a lot of milk if she gave that amount twice a day ;D

Thats 4lts a day, so 2 lts per milking, I started to do it 3 x a day but had to stop due to hay making etc, but want to go back to 3 x a day (but not too sure if you would take to it again )
