Title: Hello!
Post by: CrunchyKat on July 06, 2011, 10:18:46 am
Just wanted to say 'hi' . We have more a large garden than a smallholding but we do have some hens and ducks and are on the look out for a couple of weaners  :).

Hi CrunchyKat and welcome I am new to this site also though have found everyone very welcoming. Your weaner's I personally would get Gloucester Old Spot's they are very calm and so loving, we have a boar called Bob that we separated when he was small he spent a week in the house because he was squashed by a Saddleback Gilt on a temper tantrum, she had 4 in total, killed 1, so Bob was then joined by Ben and then Bruce, we just couldn't bare to part with Bob he is lovely will lay there and let you rub his belly and is so nice natured, get a pure Gloucester not crossed with anything and you will be fine. ;D

Hi welcome from Brittany, I second Gloucestershire Old Spots, although Large Blacks have heaps of character too.

Hello CrunchyKat.

And welcome! A big garden with chooks and ducks sounds like a smallholding to me.   ;)
