Title: Keeping flies away
Post by: Eastling on June 16, 2011, 04:50:53 pm
Our girls sleep in a stable and while sleeping during the day they are getting covered in flies. They pee/poop outside I give the stable a good hose out and disinfect once a week and change bedding every week, what else can i do to stop the flies. Seem to remember someone mentioned vinegar in a jar?? to attract them.

we use a sprinkler on the doors of our stables for the horses and also do the same for the cattle parlor. it keeps the flies out

You could try hanging one of these by the stable door http://www.fearing.co.uk/fly-bag-disposable/Default.aspx (http://www.fearing.co.uk/fly-bag-disposable/Default.aspx) I'm going to order some up soon too  ;)

Red top is good - bag full of smelly stuff which attracts flies and they CAN"T GET OUT!!
