Title: Sheep R us at Palacerigg - Sat June 18th
Post by: Fleecewife on June 11, 2011, 12:05:30 am
Is anyone interested in popping along for this?

<<Shearing is upon us at Palacerigg and in an effort to get more folk interested in the wider park, we are having an event on Sat 18th between 1-3pm. Paul and Lucy will be shearing and we are being joined by Celestine Scanlon from Summerlee Heritage Museum who will be spinning and weaving the fleece.

Celestine has also made a rural scene using our previously supplied fleeces and this will be presented / hung in the Visitor Centre on the Day.

Bump for this.

The weaving is actually peg loom weaving and for 50p you can have a go.  I really want to try that but have to be somewhere else that day.

For those of you who couldn't get to Keltie last Sunday this could be worth a visit.
