Haven't got much money, but want something nice. Any ideas? :) ;D

How about buying one of those large box canvas things and some oil paints and creating something yourself? ;D

depends on your skills and your style but you could use a pretty light weigh rug or blanket, some material that goes with your furniture etc, turn in the edges, weigh them down and put on a cutain pole and hang on brackets like a tapestry!!
You could even print off an blow up part of a family members or animals face and stick it on board then varnish!!!
I try to look out in second hand shops for pics but not usual to find large ones!!!
If y ou like childrens art, you could look at the local or your children to paint something on board!

what size does it have to be?

How about some nice felting like the pic posted by Ellied yesterday. I believe you can felt different things into e.g. sparkly bits, if you want to. You could then make it to match or constrast with your room

what size does it have to be?
I'll have to check as still in process of decorating that room as was in quite a state.

Why not go for something 3d - think more bush art - an interesting branch / some dried flowers / lots of dried grass or wiggly twigs in a vase - adding a bit of white emulsion paint to the tips of branches makes them look more arty and not just something you've dragged out of your garden. Bits of dried wood glued one above the other onto a backing sheet can look good - don't just think of normal picture shape or the size you're trying to cover - often going over the top can look more like an installation piece rather than a hum drum portrait shape. Look at Andy Goldsworthy's website (he's a fantastic sculptur in Dumfriesshire) it will give you inspiration way beyond your wall. Let us know what you do! :o :o :o

I worked with an artist who made a wonderful wall hanging, mainly felt but with bits of wool, sparkle and all sorts of nice textures, I loved it and it was commisioned to hand in the Red Cross Childrens center and strangly enough, the artists children got taken into care, thats how I new her, she was soooo nice and it was sooo sad how she ended up!!!!!
