I just wanted to say what a great forum this is, or rather what great people frequent it! I wanted to add some decent Cream Legbars and Marrans to my ever expanding poultry empire but had some decidedly dodgy looking creatures hatch out from eggs bought at the Salisbury Poultry Markets. I studied the posts on here for a while and decided to buy 18 eggs from Bamford, they arrived here in Hampshire very promptly all the way from Aviemore. I have just transfered 13 big healthy, uniform looking Cream Legbar chicks to my brooder and only three of them are males. :D.
I then decided to get some Marrans eggs from Darkbrowneggs and was delighted to recieve on our 25th wedding anniversary, (I promise this is the last lot in the incubator this year, Dear!) 18 fantastic looking eggs again very promptly and accompanied by loads of very helpful advice. I will let you know how the do in due course.
So thanks so much Garry and Sue, and if anyone else is thinking of getting some eggs from either of these two.....Go on, Give it a go! ;D

All the people I have met through this forum, when I have bought things, I have nothing but praise for. Nothing I have had has not been right, or had a problem. And they were all nice, genuine people too.
There is an issue of buying from unknown sources, not everyone is as honest as we would like.
Pleased its all worked out well for you with buying from our members on here.

Yes I agree. I'm new to all this (smallholding and forums) and found the people on here (am on poultry and sheep mostly) quick to respond, opinionated, helpful and with great links to reputable sources. Also when things are bad (my scenario currently) plenty of support going to!
