Anyone? I have one female and would dearly like another, but cant find any anywhere.
I would be willing to travel almost anywhere for one of these floppy-eared scamps!

Its our newly discovered favourite breed - a pygmy / nubian cross.
We rescued one recently and have fallen in love with her soft nature and big floppy ears, so would like at least one more. Maybe 2.... ;D

Yes, was wondering too!! The only Kinder I know is the moorland by us, - Kinder Scout!!
I have pygmy goats, and also an Anglo Nubian intact billy ....so the off spring will be Kinder!!
Do you have a photo of your goat? Is it out of a pygmy by a nubian? Surely not a nubian female and a pygmy billy?
Have just googled kinder goats, and am surprised to see they look like Molly one of my smaller goats. We use our pygmy billy on her, and her kids are usually pygmy sized, although she is bigger. She has nubian in her, having large ears, and her kid last year came out light brown, with a dorsal stripe, and big ears.

Having found a pic of a Kinder goat, I was surprised to see it looks very much like Molly, one of my smaller residents. She is like a large pygmy, but has very long ears, but they stick out. We serve her with our pygmy billy, and some of the kids come out with long ears too, and have the nubian colouring. I have always assumed she has nubian in her breeding.

Im afraid I have no idea which way round they were, but my guess would be the billy was the pygmy??
Does yours look anything like ours??
Sorry the pics are not very good but she doesnt stay still for a moment! Pic 2 show how big she is next to one of our saanen / nubian crosses - shes about half the weight I guess, but shes quite leggy. I just love those big floppy ears - she even pulls them over her eyes when she knows she's done (read: 'eaten') something she shouldnt have!

Ain't Kinder Scout important in the history of access to the countryside? I had certainly heard of it. I thought it had to be to do with Kinder Scout or Kinder Eggs. Or, given kinder is german for children, I thought it may be the young of some animal I hadn't heard of!
Anyways, she is very cute!

About Kinders it says;
"The fall of 1985 found the Showalters of Zederkamm Farm, Snohomish, Washington in a bind. Their old Nubian buck had died and left their two Nubian does without a mate. True, they had other goats including several Pygmies and the Pygmy buck was eager to be of help. So they bred the Nubians to the little fellow and in the spring of 1986 three little doe kids were born, the first Kinders. One, called Liberty, stayed at Zederkamm Farm, one was placed with a 4-H girl and the other went to live with Teresa Hill, a nearby goat enthusiast.
Liberty turned into a delightful goat with a charming personality, delightfully rich, sweet milk and the ability to produce three to six kids every year. More crosses were made, this time in a deliberate attempt to produce more of these moderate sized, highly efficient diary goats. Teresa Hill saw the potential of these goats with their smaller size, high feed conversion efficiency, rich milk and easy fleshing. Along with two other local Snohomish ladies, Daralyn Hollenbeck and Kathy Gilmore, Teresa launched an organization to register and promote this new, dual-purpose breed of goats. Initial publicity found a ready interest among goat fanciers around the country and now over 50 herd names and many hundreds of goats are registered with the Kinder Goat Breeders Association."

Our Molly is a similar size, but her ears, which are like a nubian size, stick out, not floppy. Most of her kids inherit the large ears too. I am sure if I mate her with Darren, we will get a very good nubian lookalike.

Im no biologist, but could the characteristics like floppy or sticky up ears be dependant on which is the billy and which is the nanny? Or maybe its just about which is the stronger strain ie how many times either breed gets bred in?

I am no biologist either :) I have always thought Molly was probably out of a pygmy x an Anglo Nubian male. She is mainly white, with light brown legs, and brown round her face and neck. Her first kid with me came out like Bobby (with large ears of course) second one light brown all over with darker stripe down middle of his back, and this years WAS white all over, but she has now developed brown legs, brown above her eyes, and brown spots on her body!!!
All these kids are by Bobby.
That is why this year I will put her to Darren the Anglo Nubian to see what we get next Spring - whatever, its got to have large ears, floppy or sticking out!!!!
