After Sandy's thread on money saving tips and comments from fellow TAS members about putting mine into a book I have decided to give it a go, it has been a little difficult as I am dyslexic and sometimes get a bit confused but OH has been very supportive. I have started writing things down as I do them as even I didn't realise how much I actually do that saves money I just do it because Grandma showed me how to.
I have been around the smallholding looking at things I have made or just recycled into another use, looked at my recipes that I make up as I go to suit ingredients I have (normally seasonal) and also the crafts I do to save or make money OH is sure that if my sales skills were as good as my crafting skills I would actually not have to have a full time job ;D
I am now trying to think of something to call my book..........but don't really have any ideas on it as it isn't just money saving tips but how to live more economically within your means.

Go for it ;D ;D

It would be a great coffee table book, I personally would love it, you can add some anecdotes...little snippets and even other peoples tips..., you should both have some nice simple illustrations and some lovely photos. My daughter has something similar on Cosmetic Science and life style, making your own skin and household products etc, little stories and photos etc, she is on the Verge of publishing it but it took a lot to of time. There is something MUCH more satisfying to me anyway, to make something from rubbish or a find than going out to buy something similar!!!!!! Brilliant idea, go for it, simple, good to look at and practical.
You need a brain storm on here so heres my bit of input for that type of book:-
Waste not want not
More cash, less trash
£ stretcher
save money, save the planet.
tips from a happy recycle
Accidental re-cycler
creative ideas to stretch your income....
I am sure there will be loads of them, you maybe will get bits of ideas from them to0....EXCITING :D

I wrote a book a few years ago - well really I collated anecdotes, stories and photos and put them all together in a book. I have been asked on numerous occasions to do a sequel, but haven't so far found the time. It's great fun, I was lucky that I worked for a printing company at the time and our MD told us to use company equipment and materials but our own time. It was a great moral booster for my staff, they loved doing it. I wish you every success!

I think the printing bit is what I'm most worried about but I'm sure I will find a way.
-
you can always put it on the web for a small charge, saves the hassle with publishers and the money is all yours!
Can't wait for it to come! :&>
-
Good idea, but I personally like a little book to flick through.
-
Tips I think are better in a book too, my daughter paid for her own printing but you may be able to get a publisher!!
-
Well I am going to pop it all together and see what I come up with you never know there maybe a publisher out there :P
-
Maybe you could get backing from one off the smallholders mags, you never know they might be keen. Its a great idea and I look forward to hearing how you get on :)
-
The other alternative is to look for funding from public resources to pay for the printing - community projects, awards for all etc
-
the Good Life press (incl Home Farmer magazine) release books like these Ellisr - might be worth a call?
-
thanks little blue, I will put something together and give them a call
-
Well done you. :D
