one of my other bantam hens keeps laying soft shelled eggs she spends allday out in the garden and has oyster shell grit in her coop..
any ideas what is causing this ? and any help would be much appreciated

same here with only one of my ducks - sorry, I wish I could help, it is quite annoying clearing the mess of a broken egg out of the nesting box every day... looking forward to any answers :chook: :&>

Try a bit limestone flour in with there food it helped one of my girls

my feed merchant stocks it - and they are very basic on chicken stuff...(Blacks in Collessie if you are in Fife)

i live in cambridge..... but i'll look in our feed merchants next time thanks :)

you can also find it in health food shops and if all else fails it will be on the net

If she has just started laying then she may not be ready yet if she has been layi g before then there is something wrong with the egg production inside her and you should prob put her out of her misery if not fixed soon
