How are the two Sussex?
Their great Aunt was the first to go broody this year but unfortuntalty the winds on Monday blew her hut over smashing all 15 eggs :'( and she has decided rather than trying again just to leave and go back to laying ::)

Hi all false alarm
she decided to come off the nest this morning after 5 days of staying put :( think its because of this wind, its like a BL##DY wind tunnel here we've already lost the kids 15 foot trampoline
hopefully she will head back after wind decides to stop
and the two sussex are doing great they even laid quite good through out the winter .

Hi Mark
Our cockerel is still doing his stuff quite well if you want some more eggs from us.
How are the last lot doing? Have you worked out the sex yet?
Hope you and the family are all well
-
hiya i think they are all girls ??? ;D
just introduced them to the other three and everything seems to be going well.
hows your little ones coming along :chook:
-
well Mark ..... which little ones are you referring to lol ;D
The first ones will be 12 weeks old and they are huge!!
The second ones are 3 weeks and are pretty big and we had some tiny balls of fluff hatch last Tuesday
then we have a very insistent broody who is hatching as we speak, there were 3 out earlier so by tomorrow she will have completed her hatch.
We have now packed the incubator away to remove temptation and we are having no more broody behaviour.......we are being strict for now!!
