Title: Brinsea Octagon 20 Advanced

Just wondering if anyone has experience of this incubator as I have just got it and am going to be putting some top class Cream Legbar eggs into it.  It does not have the automatic humidity pump with it.  Humidity is my main concern as I have seen some coloured egg breeders suggesting that no water is added until the last couple of days.  Does the colour of the egg have any relevance to incubation humidity???

Hi I have one. I have poor hatching results when having the humidity at the recommended level (between 40 and 50.)  The best way apparently is to put no water in it until day 18 and then put water in it to push the humidity above 60%

Same here, I have the same incubator. Of those eggs that make it to day 18 I have a good hatch rate.

We have the Octagon 20 advance with humidifier and just follow the instructions, it says to have humidity throughout but altered towards hatching. We always have had good results and have just had our first 100% hatch of meat birds .
