Mx

please let it stop here! the rivers are swollen, the fields are flooded, we can't get the jobs done outside.......and the wind today! our wee house is surrounded by mature oaks and beeches, the noise is incredible!
-
Sorry to here about your storm, the weather never is how we want it, but i would swop you some sun for some rain :farmer:
-
I can absolutely say that I have never never EVER heard a farmer say, "The weather could simply not be bettered" ;)
-
Where are you Feldar? We're south and it's rained here every day for over a week now!
-
I've lit the fire here for the first time in months as the house is so cold, the wind is howling in the windows and it has been raining nearly all day. Even now I am cold with a jumper and very thick lined alpaca cardy on.
Re your comment about farmers, years ago my mum said to someone - I expect you are pleased it has stayed so dry for the harvest. Aye - said he, but the hops need rain ;D ;D
-
Aberdeenshire - we've had a bit of rain, water but half full but the wind today .... They plowed the field to the side and below up, did a lot of work and eventually planted tatties last week - today it's like living in the middle east in a sand storm or should I say dirt storm - it's dry so the goats are happy though - if it rains the ducks will be happy so always someone happy
-
We are on the south coast opposite The Ilse of Wight the cloud seams to hit the island and scoot off to the east, We have had the dryest Spring for a long time, even today we have cloud, wind but no rain. Our friends in Winchester have had plenty. weird
-
The wind here is scary - trees all round the house are moving and the noise is dire - last time it was like this I lost a 60' tree in 3 pieces right beside the house :o and I'm meant to be going out this evening but can't say I'm keen to drive even in the Landie :(
The rain was torrential all morning but is "just" showers now fortunately but I too have lit the fire for the first time in ages..
Sods law this morning in said torrential rain and howling gales my stallion flattened a 5 bar gate and went for my old gelding in the next paddock - I got them separated but had to get him back, fend off the 2 mares who were interested in moving field, get the 14' gate back on by myself and then roll out yet another bale to the back field - it's nearly June for goodness sake :( why am I still soaked, covered in mud, rolling bales out and coming in to light a fire? :-\

Anyone wanting rain is welcome to some of ours. Just bring a bucket we've got plenty.
-
We need rain - we have winds - but please rain soon!!!
Plenty rain around here in dribs and drabs but just trip over a clod of earth and its dry about 1/2 cm down - were lucky we still have topsoil with all this dry weather!!
Please rain!!!

It has rained here for the past 2 weeks, but today is gale force winds and the stings the face (nice rosie red cheeks) :o.Glad I am now in the house looking out, instead of being out. ;)
-
God who would be a farmer!! rain when you don't want it , none when you do, batten down the hatches and send me a few buckets of rain
-
We have not had any decent rain for over two months now, just sprinkles that dont even wet the ground, parched is what we are!!! I am afraid the fruit on the trees probably wont swell unless we get a decent downpour for at least a few hours and no sign of that coming our way :(
-
Ditto!
had just enough rain this evening to almost wet the road surface. Forecast blue skies for the next 2 days - great for the solar power but my spuds are wilting >:(
-
well, ok, you can have the rain today, and tomorrow if you want, but please some sunshine for us for our camping in the new forrest this weekend? then you can have the rain back!

And that will be a shame, my trees are loaded with tiny fruit :(

Glad you're coming down our way Tazbabe the forest is lovely this time of year but watch the ticks, loads of them this year stuff not working on my dogs and i'm pulling them off by hand. Also a bit cold at night still for us delicate southerners
-
Not a spot of rain since before mid. March. Because of the wetland here grass is still good, but pond has gone and stream is down to a small trickle. Rain would be nice.
-
Well in April we were wishing for rain, and we got some, and it was enough (we don't need much around here - very wet ground)
Then a week ago BH started to talk about cutting grass. ::) So it's all our fault, we're very sorry. :'(
BH has a plan that we should emigrate to Africa or somewhere where they have drought. We would buy as much land as we could afford. The rain would follow us as we appear to be rain gods. The land would bloom and blossom and make us heaps of dosh.
Any more summers like the last 4, I'm going to take him up on that...
-
That's ok, we will blame you then. So come down south and wish us some rain!!
-
Sally-in-N you dont happen to have visited Australia and Spain in the last 12 months?

thanks for the warning about the ticks, kinda helped me decide something!
usually we take our dogs camping with us, they love it, but now that we have steve's mum living with us, she said why not leave the dogs behind..i have been swithering...but i think we will leave them here.
we had a lot of ticks last summer, poor things suffered a bit with them, no point in starting it off again!
