Title: Central Scotland Smallholders Association
Post by: Rosemary on January 30, 2009, 09:28:49 pm
Next meeting is Wednesday 18th February, 7pm, Dumyat Centre, Menstrie.

All you West Lothian folk - we'd be very happy to welcome you along. Plus anyone else in Central Scotland.

It's just a social evening - tea and buns. When we get thrown out at 9.30, there's a pub across the road!

We will have some exciting news on Wednesday.

I'd also like to take some time to look at the Government's food policy consultation paper "Choosing the Right Ingredients: the Future for Food in Scotland"

Thanks for the invite Rosemary,  Should be OK for us to come tomorrow babysitter permitting.  However not quite sure having a back garden with 2 Chickens in Stirling will qualify us to attend the Central Scotland Small Holders Association?  Hope thats OK.

Both look good - might need a competition to choose the best for the CSSA logo!

I'm still wondering about this. Rosemary suggested I might like to consider joining in my introductions thread, but I'm still concerned I'm just at too much of an entry level to be more than an annoyance to the CSSA, even though there's no doubt I want to move toward smallholding in the future. Any thoughts on this either way?

I've got a psychology paper to complete and submit by end of Tuesday, so can justify taking Wednesday off to come to the meeting in Alloa on Wednesday if I'd be welcomed (and I can find the town hall.. driven past Alloa many times, never been in it!).

We are all at different stages, I am a 'newbie' and just learning.  Everyone is really nice and very welcoming.  I have only been to one meeting and really looking forward to the next one, we all had a good giggle too!!  (Oh a cup of tea and some lovely Rock buns!!!) You should come along, whats the worst that can happen .... might rope you in to hen / pig / sheep / dog / cat / duck / goldfish ... sitting !!!!  See you Wednesday  ;)

Alloa Hall is easy to find - right beside a roundabout, next to the health centre on the main road to stirling and opposite the end of Church Street.  we're all newbies at something till we make a few mistakes - then we become experts!  Parking in the health centre might be easier as the town hall has quite a small car park
See you Wednesday 7pm in Tom
