Title: Hello from the Forest of Dean
Post by: Hen on January 30, 2009, 01:50:32 pm
Hi everyone!

My husband and I have recently bought a smallholding in the Forest of Dean and are about to get some Oxford Sandy and Black weaners to start our livestock (and help get rid of some of the jungle!!)

we're really looking forward to learning loads of new stuff, and any tips will be much appreciated!

Hen

Being half Glaswegian I just adore being called 'Hen'

You hardly ever get called "hen" now - part of the anglicisation of our native dialect, I fear. We all want to speak the Queen's English.

I get called that down here - and 'pal' as well - I love it.  Up in Aberdeenshire everyone was 'dear'  I HATE that!  I am NOT their dear!

Hi Hen
You're not too far from us - we're in Worcestershire.

I was brought up being called hen and my uncle still uses the word when he is on the phone. Welcome and looking forward to hearing how you get on with your pigs. :)
