Title: Hi all.
Post by: Leanne on May 12, 2011, 09:24:36 am
Hello everyone. I'm a "wannabe" smallholder who, at the moment, grows her own fruit and veg, herbs etc. I also make my own wine and forage and hunt/fish a bit. If/when I can lay hands on a bit more land I intend to have livestock as well. I love this way of life and hope to make friends with like minded people on here.  :)

Sounds to me as if you are already a small holder.  HOpe the livestock and land follows on soon.

Hi from Clackmannan, only keep chickens and a pair of Ducks, love the out door life and forageing, I have so many bags when I take our dogs for a walk (4Labs) that I sometimes get mixed up!!! I think its great to have a focus and you will get there one day!!!! Welcome

Big hello's from nottinghamshire (soon to move to the Scottish Borders!)

I have 10 goats but would really love a dog....... and a few pigs...... and some chickens....... The list goes on! Don't do it, it's addictive!

but I wouldn't change it for the world.

Yes, it is addictive. I have to stop myself sowing more than I can possibly grow every year. Then I fuss and worry like a mother hen.
I would love to have chickens, pigs, goats etc. I really hope I can one day.

Hi Leanne

we moved to our holding 2 years ago and I quit nursing to keep livestock and grow our own. Its a lovely life so I hope your dreams come true very soon  :)
we have 2 goats currently (another coming in the autumn and kidding next spring) we make goats milk soap from their milk  :)  hubby makes plum wine from our orchard which is a bit popular locally lol and we have chickens and rabbits. All hard work but good fun!
