Title: Simplex Grain Silo
Post by: Shan on May 11, 2011, 10:47:57 am
Hi. I saw a post from someone looking for advice on the cost of a silo. I intended to contact to ask if the person had any replies but now I can't find it! As a lone female I am often the target of people wanted to 'advise' me, so I thought I'd try to do something fo rmyself & ask people who have no vested interest. So, I'm sorry for being 'on the want' fo my very first post. I have a Simplex Silo I need to get rid of. It's in VGC (any outside marks will wash off) & I have all the 'bits' that go with it. How much should I be looking for please? If I have to scrap it, how much would the scrap man pay? I know that I'm asking the equivalent of 'How long is a piece of string', but any advice would be gratefully received. Thanks in advance. Shan (PS I can send pictures)

Gosh I shouldn't be out on my own eh? It's approx 4m High & 5m in diameter. It's not the 'upside down type'. Shan

you might be lucky to get a buyer(to reuse)  but they would not be paying a premium price
with the price of scrap it would be better to weigh it in and easier on yourself
grain silos werebig in the early 60s but a bit out of favour now    hth

Thanks. I've advertised it 'offers' just in case. But I'm not going to worry too much if there's no interest & will get the scrap man in as soon as the advert times out. Shan
