SPKA are having our first pig classes in Scotland after a period of nearly 30 years. Our first show is Lesmahagow on 28th May 2011. If you would like to show your pedigree pigs at Lesmahagow please contact me or go the www.lesmahagowfarmerssociety.co.uk (http://www.lesmahagowfarmerssociety.co.uk) and down load the entry form. Don't think oh I'm new to this and will watch first, we are all new to this and are going to have a good time. Help will always be on hand for advice please come and support us as, without you there will be no future for pigs classes and our ultimate aim is to show once again the the Highland Show. You can contact me on 01324 861250/07795288406 or go to www.scottishpigs.co.uk (http://www.scottishpigs.co.uk). Hope to see a good turn out and get entry form to me asap please.
Thanks,
Lillian

Come on folks - support this! :pig: :pig: :pig: :pig:
-
Wish everyone all the good luck.
Unfortunately you're 3 1/2 hours too far north for me (166 miles) otherwise i'd loved to have come but its too far to trek my pigs for one day especially as we're at Newark two weeks prior.
I'm sure you'll all have a great time.
Best Mandy :pig:
-
mandy that is about the same distance for us to go to westmoorland
-
Will have a word with OH but i don't think he'll relish the A66, M6 & M74 on a bank holiday weekend :pig:
-
Oh go on Mandy, be nice to have an "eyeball"
-
these roads are a doodle as you will be traveling in the quiet time and we are having a barbecue after just for all the far traveled entrants

-
I'm happy for all long travelled folks to stay at mine - we're only about 3 miles from the show ground (got a spare room, 4 couches and lots of field space for tents ;) ;D) Plenty of room to park trailers containing pigs for the night too (can't unload 'em, but they'd be okay for a night surely ?)
Go on, you know you want to ;) And it would be lovely to finally meet you Mandy ;D
The offer is open to anyone - just pm me and I'll keep you a space !

I'm coming!!!
-
showing i hope
-
No, sorry! My only pedigree is my Tamworth boar, and I'm not brave enough!
-
no senior boars are a big handfull you need two handlers that are not novices
you could do the same as Southerners just buy a good one
-
You could show one of mine Lee ;D
Or I could sell you one to show :o ;D ;D ;D
Be good to see you mrs ! Hope you'll be hanging around for a party afterwards ?
-
I hope to hang around. Me and jack are going on a road trip to the show. I'll bring my wellies to be safe!
-
;D ;D ;D
See you soon then
Karen

I can't yet predict whether I will be able to get up there - as a spectator only - but if I could get away, depending on what BH is doing, I might look at public transport or, if anyone else would be crossing the A69, maybe could cadge a part-lift? (We only run one vehicle, so unless he is not going anyotherwhere and can spare the vehicle, or decides to come too, I'd be looking at alternative ways of getting there and back.)

Hi Lillian
Well done getting pig classes at the show ;D. Hope they prove popular and you can get some more shows in Scotland having piggies. If we were a bit nearer we would have come along to support it but just a bit far for a one day show. Wishing you the best of luck for a successful event :)

Would love to see some photos of your Hampshire x Tamworth when you get them, that's what I was planning in the future to do with one of the gilts, the other breed pure ;D
Ones a Judy, the other is a Precious. No not weighed them, the Judy gilt has a huge backside though compared to the Tamworths, she looks like J Lo :D
