hi i have got 2 tamworth sows and i have asked the breeder about there tag numbers as there is only one of them with tag and the other 2 where slap markd but i cant read the slap mark numbers he asures me they are pedagiree and u need to register with the british pig federation to get the paperwork on them but as i only have one tag number to use how do i get the other ones i havent register with the bpf yet it is on my to do list along with everything else
iam all confused wher do i get the tages from do i have to do like i do for the cattle and pre order the tages throught the local farm shop place with future calf numbers
any idea wat i do as i want to do this all correct

To be pedigree and registered they SHOULD have ear identification, two lots, one breeders ID no. second BPA ID no. You should not have to contact the BPA for registration, the breeder should have already birth notified the litter, and then registered your 3 as pedigrees. It is a common misconception that piglets from a purebred litter (even when the parents are both registered) are pedigree. In fact until they are registered they are just purebred its the papers that prove the pedigree. You should have received paperwork form BPA (even if you are not a member) with the pigs registration details and numbers.
