Hi everyone,
Still living and learning with my Indian Runners! Had them for about 3 months now, both girls laid initially then both stopped for various, explainable reasons. One now merrily laying again, the other - no eggs. Both same age (bought at point of lay) she eats/ drinks/ is fine everywhere apart from she doesn't have many feathers around her eyes ( thought maybe it was stress of new home etc) but I've also found her laying 'sacs' like childrens bouncy balls! And also she's attempted an egg that came out in stages yolk, White sac and shell - still attached to her bottom poor thing! Since then, 2 more of these attempted eggs... What's going on?? Any ideas?!

any trouble with feathers, id check for parasites first, then diet. some of my birds last year that had feather trouble, turned out to be genetic i believe.

Hi guys,
They are on duck layers pellets, bit of corn and crushed oyster shell occasionally. I've checked get over (she's White so pretty easy) and apart from scrawnyness around eyes she's clear of anything yukky. I just can't understand these odd laying attempts where literally a yolk sac followed by White followed by shell appears!!

I reduced my pellets when they had laying problems and upped the wheat - no corn for the ducks (beacause they don't like it) which has brought down the egg problems. Pellets have too much protein and maybe they can't keep up with the shell production if they overeat on them. My view, might be worth a try :&>
