I'm looking for someone in Fife who will cull & dress seven (I think) cockerels in exchange for a bottle of Adelphi whisky. I thought I'd be able to do it - I'm not, I'm a wimp. We're near Dunfermline. Any takers? :)

shame ur not closer, by kids are great pluckers .. lol.. :wave:

Your KIDS? Now I feel even more of a pansy!

be brave, an give it a try, its quite interesting really. its quite usual to see chooks hanging up in our porch during the winter. it gets easier and quicker the more u do. :wave:

You're right, I should do it myself. I do need someone to show me what to do, though as I wouldn't want to get it wrong..... !
-
i did it by following an outline of how to do it i found on google. probs not done in the tidiest fashion, but its done. they are in the freezer, so time will tell!

I am down from the croft visiting my partner who is working Monday so I could do it then. Provided you want to give me a hand with the plucking and dont mind me bring Floyd my border collie who believes everyone is his friend.

Forgot to say I am in Burntisland so distance not a problem, will need to know by 2100 so i can make plans though

the pansy's way (!) is to skin rather than pluck, then just take off the "best" bits for human consumption.
helps if you have cats/dogs who will eat the bits you don't fancy - makes it feel less wasteful!

Pants, just back from a BBQ. Monday would be brilliant if your plan haven't been finalised, Floyd welcome as long as he doesn't mind exuberant lab & cocker...! If not monday then anytime suits you I'd be more than grateful! Cheers.

89 years notice seemed a bit excessive, then I realised you meant 9 o'clock ::) ;D

we do that too, much quicker. dogs will soon eat the rest. :yum:

I do that with pheasants, it doesn't bother me at all. But pheasants all look the same, and I hatched all these boys myself..... maybe I should do it in the dark?!

Just got back in. Sadly I am heading up north tomorrow so am unable to help you out.

No problem. Thanks anyway!
