40p per kilo :o aren't the BWMB paying more than that for white wool? Also coloured wools will sell for a better price to handspinners.

The lady I sheared for today got £6-8 plus postage for her coloured Ryelands on ebay last year.

And how much would it cost me to send it down? Sorry but doesn't seem to be such a good offer.

We want any wool....especially the poor quality! The wool board are indeed paying a lot for the good quality wools so if you have some good and white stuff get it down to your local depot. What we are after is the coloured, the poor quality and the really rough stuff.....its for insulation!

My wool always went to Woolly Shepherd - nice to know it is being used for eco friendly stuff.  I gave my card to Marti when I was at the vets for her to pass it on to Nicky for taking away my wool.

For me I get the money when they get the wool and they don't hold onto it for months and months like the WMB plus they save me a job and a journey and collect it.  It is worth saving me the hassle

Does anyone know if wool is of any use if not removed in one piece?  Had a few issues shearing and so have a few bags of incomplete fleeces.  Will have to have words with my assistant so they don't pull apart as I am shearing!
