I use a big dish that used to hold a horse field lick. Works fine. I think the chooks like to be able to get right in for a good drink especially in warm weather

Hi,

I have one similar to the trap drinker. They are very awkward to clean. I have a household washing up brush jubilee clipped to a flexible electric netting fence pole so I can get in and scrub the inside.

I much prefer something that can open right up to make cleaning easier.

Bye for now,

I have several of the trap drinkers, the one with the metal legs. The pan comes out to clean but cleaning the inside of the water butt is a pain. I put a cup of scalpings in it and some water and start shaking it, then all the green goo gets scrapped off. My only real gripe with them is the top caps, hey are awkward to open. Takes a firm grip to twist open and shut.
