Last three lambs born this morning!
From our 14 Shetland ladies (11 first time mums) we have had
14 girls (minus one, taken out of 7 foot fenced and dog guarded field, by a golden eagle it's thought!)
6 boys
made up of 6 singles and 7 twins. No multiples. Nearly always have equalish numbers of singles and sets of twins.
All healthy, all born without assistance, still havent quite caught any coming out - thats 3 years of lambing where they have sneaked every one out. No mothering problems and all the lambs are healthy and strapping.
This is why Shetlands are great!
(And the boys taste fabulous once they go as hogget :yum:).
The oldest lambs are now a week old, little girls named Bunting and Confetti!

Well done, very pretty lamb. It is amazing how they just wait for you to turn your back on them and then suddenly their are more feet hiding behind a large body. It reminds me of the 'luggage' in Terry Pratchet.
We still have four to go! One who I am convinced if she does notget on with it is gong to expload. But is still content to waddle and stuff herself.

Congratulations! And hasn't it been perfect lambing weather?

Amazing weather, even those in denial had to lamb in the end in that sunshine!
I did find that the great weather meant a lot more variation in what time of day they gave birth, normally they all go for early morning but quite a few this year were all different times, even incl. a few evening ones. Guess they knew the lambs would get dry and not too wet and cold.
