Title: Posting Pork!
Post by: powispigs on April 15, 2011, 05:32:16 pm
Does anyone send pork by post/courier to their customers?? What method do people use? Need to send an order off for the first time outside the local area and concerned regarding keeping it cool etc.  Is same day delivery with iced boxes enough?? Help!!

I send mine overnight delivery.  Packed in insulated boxes, with ice gel packs around the produce.

A lot of couriers won't take fresh meat.  I used to use Parcelforce, but recently I've found a local courier who does it a lot cheaper.

I drop it off to people who are prepared to  meet me on the road.  Butcherd and put in a foam eskey to keep it cool.  I like to think folks will travel half the distance to meet me.

I deliver some and most people collect from the farm as they like to come and see the pigs but this is about 300 miles away so not prepared to meet them half way!  :pig:
