Hi All,
I have got to get the grass cut on my 4 acres, it looks a mess and the fencing is not up yet so grazing animals is not an option at the moment even if it was in good condition. Could anyone recommend someone to do the job or know of a good hire centre in Caithness. I am considering hiring something like a power scythe or other suitable Equipment.
Any advice on this subject would be appreciated,

Hi Digger
I'm not in your area but if there is a lot of grass it's always worth advertising locally to see if any cattle farmer might want it. We sold ours when we moved in as we needed grazing for our horses and mopst of the fields were too poor in qualoty for horse hay. A local farmer paid to get 9 acres cut and baled and then gave us a small fee per bale on top which paid for us to cut the 2 good fields for the horses. :)

That would be a good option I agree, could you maybe get temporary fencing of some sort. Would an electric fence contain cattle?
