Post by: Newfoundland on April 07, 2011, 11:58:21 am
Hope i'm in the right place. Living in Lincolnshire on 6 acres. We have 9 ducks, for ex-bat hens and three horses. Getting 3 pygmy goats this weekend, and making this the year we really start growing our own (and surplus we hope!).

Thank you everyone for your welcome! We have lots of tomato plants started, leeks, lettuces, broad beans, rocket, beetroot, parsnips, berlotti beans, squashes, sprouts and chilli peppers. The conservatory, which is usually our dining room, is like a green house. Had quite a bit of success last year with spinach, lettuce, broad beans, carrots and turnips, but our tomatoes did not really produce too much fruit. Think we started them too early and they got rather leggy!

Hello and welcome from Clackmannan, once from Leicestershire and now enjoying Scotland you never know where next!! Linconshire is ideal for growing stuff so fingers crossed you will have loads of frozen fruit and veg..

I did have an uncle who lived on the  Llyn Peninsula, he died a few years ago but he certainly lived rough and sustained himself on the land and sea, in fact his scavenging were notoriouse around the area!!
