I would love to keep some alpacas but don't know where to start.  The sites I have visited for alpacas for sale seem awfully expensive and all seem to be in the South.   We live in the North West of England.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Bluebell  :)

Thank you for all the lovely comments  :D Andromeda is growing beautifully as you can see from her 1 week old picture
Any one interested in buying alpacas should go to the alpaca seller site. Here's the link that goes straight to search page http://www.alpacaseller.com/AnimalSearchSimple.php?PHPSESSID=3ba1n7i9jbvohvtlbfmojfloc4&Amend=0 (http://www.alpacaseller.com/AnimalSearchSimple.php?PHPSESSID=3ba1n7i9jbvohvtlbfmojfloc4&Amend=0)
It covers the whole country and all price ranges. What are you looking to do with the alpacas? Breeding? Fleece animals? Pets? There is an alpaca society too that tells you about show dates, courses and local societies and also about care of alpacas www.bas-uk.com (http://www.bas-uk.com)
Some people do alpaca adoption but I haven't found the right site.
Anyone who doesn't have the land can agiste. All my alpacas are agisted at this time so my boyfriend and i travel around the country visiting them. This little lady is in Dorchester at Inca alpacas so thats a 3 hour drive from where i live.
