Having had my 4 pretty jacobs a year and my very handsome ram - today was the day for our first lamb - just out to do the feed session and OH arrive home to say he thought (no glasses on) there was a lamb in the field - raced up and seemed a bit still, oh no I thought should have been earlier but it was alive and managed to lead mum down to the shed and popped them both in - little ewe lamb. Went up to check after an hour and she was trying, head and one leg but a bit of aid and out he came a monster of a boy very big head (probably from his dad - so feeling quite proud for not panicking and pictures will follow, the wee ewe has lovely spots - my first jacob lambs about 32 years after I first fell in love with them!!

Well done :) :sheep: :sheep: I still love Jacob lambs, even though we don't keep them any more. Just wait until they are gambolling around in the field - you have months of pleasure ahead :)

Mine were due then and onwards too but she was very early but they are (seem to be) fighting fit and running around the field, leaping about and even starting to make mum a wee bit mad by going too far away from her - so great to watch - honest I did get some work done today - GOOD LUCK with your lambing egglady
