Title: Mole in my veg plot
Post by: chriso on March 21, 2011, 03:19:31 pm
I've got signs of a mole in among my garlic, will it eat garlic, or any other veg?

Moles eat worms.  But they do a lot of damage because they push young seedlings up out of the soil, or make tunnels under their roots so they are dangling into air, or cover them with moved soil.

Jasper Carrot: "There's only one way to get rid of a mole - blow its bloody head off!"

You can get non-fatal mole traps, or it might be worth cvontacting the British Traditional Mole-Catching Register: http://www.britishmolecatchers.co.uk/ (http://www.britishmolecatchers.co.uk/)

I have friends who farm worms and they find the sonic deterrents work.  Sorry I can't provide any info - maybe someone else on here knows a bit more?
