Hi everyone, Dan and Rosemary are supporting this idea, and will be helping by setting up a photo gallery section and a donations page whereby donations will go direct to the relevant charities. Calum has agreed to be one of teh Judges but I feel another two would be useful - any offers?
The first step is to decide the names of the classes. I'd like to make it similar to an agricultural/garden show so can we have class/category suggestions please for
Pigs
Sheep
Goats
Cattle
Dogs
Cats
Bees
Chickens
Ducks
Vegetables
Fruit
and any other category you have photos for.
Thanks
Annie

oops, sorry :-[ :-[ - OK I need classes from all you aficionados! ;D ;D ;D Dogs I can do!
-
how about flowers, now spring is sort of sprung?
-
Yes, flowers too - get snapping folks, I have two confirmed judges, possibly three, just need suggestions for classes within each category - does anyone show their animals/produce? What are the usual classes at shows? I'll draw up a schedule then we can get started.
-
May be wise to go for a smaller number of classes with broader subject matter so that each class gets a decent number of entries? Maybe, sheep and goats, pigs and poultry, the garden and countryside. Maybe have a class winner then an overall winner?
Then we can pinch the best for the CSSA calendar ;D
-
HA ha, yes, that was in my mind too, Rosemary. Will you be a judge? I have two others
-
I'd love to help judge it - who are the other two?
-
Calum for photographic side and OhLala (bees, sheep etc)

Can I get involved somehow too please ?
I'm not bad at the ol' composition and design aspect and have a good eye for pigs ;)
And (I know it's cheeky ;)) but we, at the SPKA, could be doing with piggy piccys for our website ;D
Just let me know what you want me to do ;D
-
I can't doate online, but if someone is collecting, i will happily send them either a postal order, or a well disguised note :)
-
Just wait a mo, haud yer horses! Dan has to set up the Just giving section first, and a gallery page, and we need a schedule drawn up, then we will ask for photos and the class/category they are to go in, and when you send in your photos you donate of the just giving page. The prize is the overall winning photo and winners in each section will take pride of place in the CSSA calendar.(maybe more - haven't even got that far yet!)

Karen, do you want to draw up a schedule? I was thinking of making it a bit like and agric show - you know, classes for say pigs, goats and sheep, horses, cattle, poultry, plus a section for gardens and countryside (to include flowers and veg)
You could still submit photos yourself, and I'm sure we'll get lots of piggy ones as well as other species, and if everyone is assumed to give permission for their photos to be used for calendars and websites when they submit a photo then there is no problem with copyright..
-
Leave it with me Annie, will I email it to you or post it on here ? :-*
-
Email please, Karen and I'll put all the info on together when I get it from Dan.
-
Its a fantastic idea, good luck sorting it all out
-
Is there a closing/judging date set for this? :sheep: :chook:
-
No, not yet, need a lot more photos first then we'll set one. Keep snapping, keep donating. ;) ;D
-
Will do :) :sheep: :chook: :brocolli: :bfly: :ladybug: :bee: :dog: :cat:

Shameless bumping - we have about 50 photos so far. Have a look folks, make your donations to two very worthy causes and post your photos. Deadline being set of one month from now, when the photos will be judged. (Friday 20th May 2011)
More of the show what you grow variety is needed I think! But another month and you'll see loads of sprouting hopefully, so get those cameras out. ;D
