Title: Hatching eggs to Spain
Post by: ChrisSpain on March 12, 2011, 06:28:03 pm
Hi all,
I live in mainland Spain and have been keeping laying chickens for some time, I have just cleared all my stock, given away to good home, and want to start keeping pure bred chickens, I am thinking maybe Light Susssex hens with RIR cock to give me egg birds with the cocks going to the pot.
My problem is obtaining the right stock, I have an incubator so my first thought was ebay, there is no problem as there are loads on there, however what will the postage delay do to the hatch rate, also is anyone elso on here living in Spain and can maybe offer some advice.
many thanks and best wishes to all.
Chris

Hi Gary
If I crossed a Ixwoth cockeral with LS Hens would I then get good table birds, I want to use LS as I will have them for eggs so Ixworth cockeral would work well for me but I am not sure if Ixworth or Indian Game cockeral would give me the best meat birds.
Also what would the postage cost to Spain be for 6 Ixworth eggs. Maybe I should be asking you in PM?
many thanks Chris
