Title: Ding Dong thing - wanted - Yard Alarm

Posting this for a friend of mine;

She is looking for one of those devices that rings/buzzes when someone drives into her yard for security purposes.  Obviously, she's looking for a second-hand one, just something reliable - she's trying the old ebay, but if anyone on here can help  ;)

Hmmm... I wonder what they're actually called - would help in the search.

You could get a security PIR sensor - the sort normally used to operate floodlights - set it to it's shortest duration (usually ~5 seconds) and connect it to a buzzer. Would also detect pedestrians.

You might need to blank the sides of the sensor so it only 'sees' a narrow sector to avoid false triggering though.

That sounds more like what she's after Mab (yeh would be helpful if we knew what it's called) - just don't know if we'd work out how to fix a buzzer to it though  ???

i am sure you can get laser sensors (trigger if broken) probably better to speak to a specialised security firm that way you know what you are looking for then source them of the internet( much cheapness)

I had one of those in Surrey.
