I have been asked to put out some feelers for rehoming a black & white border collie bitch who is a failed sheepdog. I think she would work a small flock quite nicely but is not suited to the large numbers she is being asked to work. She is quite obedient, in good health and about 4 years old. She currently lives outdoors but is allowed in occassionally and is always clean.
Please email me for more info
She is in Somerset/Devon

I would love her but have 3 boys one of which is a collie that is scared of sheep and it may cause a problem
-
Would she be suitable for the bloke I mentioned to you on Sunday....90% pet and companion 10% helping shift his cattle?
-
She works when she wants to - might be suitable. Worth getting him to call me
-
have pmd you

This is the pretty little girlie.....
-
I suspect the 'works when she wants to' attitude is a training issue rather than a temperament one. She looks lovely, hope HMM has found her forever home for you.
-
have you tried border collie rescue.
-
She's lovely :)
-
i would have her in a heartbeat as she is just what we are looking for (small flock of 7 sheep) but we are in Fife. If there was a way she could come her, then put us down as a definate "yes"
-
That would be an excellent cattle dog. The traditional cattle collies have white faces as the cows are more frightened of them!
-
HERMIT, why are cattle more frightened of white faces?
-
Have not a clue Faith, just one of those farming sayings like good sheepdogs have black roofed mouths . Strange but true. I suppose generations of farmers find out these things.
-
i have an almost white faced pup(dog) only one ear (inside)is black only just started running about
-
Sheep farmers normally won't touch white faced dogs. Please put the word out about this little girlie she is really sweet and would suit a country life with small scale farming.
-
How about a relay system for such as this - Devon to Fife is a long way for one person, but a few could do it if they timed it right. I heard of another rescue society doing this - English Springer I think.
-
couldnt u put her on a train?
-
id love her but hubby thinks too much with the other three we have but I have two friends both experienced with breed so I have asked if either could take her - she looks fab
-
we will be down in birmingham at the weekend, if someone could bring her to there, we could bring her to ayrshire. i can keep her here no problem until you could get her.
-
Suggest you PM Laura - egglady
-
oh now this is getting exciting and maybe, just maybe, it starts to be do-able!!! If we can make it work that we can get her here, I'd happily give the lass a happy home. Small flock of sheep, lovely outdoor kennel, lots of TLC from the family, another dog (yorkie) for company, ducks to herd (!!), and a couple fo pigs.....
-
we'll be in a hotel saturday night, be coming home sunday.
i'll pm you my mobile, in case you need to reach me at the weekend ;)
-
just heard that there is a collie here - ayrshire - also in desperate need of a good home.
its about 7months old, my friend has it on a temporary basis but can't keep it.
-
Still looking for a new home.......
-

-
Tazbabe's one not suitable Laura?
-
did you get my pm egglady?
been away the weekend, back now. let me know if you want to know more about the one here, and i'll get more detail for you.
-
Is the Collie still available as possibly interested??
-
She went to a new home today so fingers crossed it all works out, however I do know of another one looking for a home. Male, border collie, about 12 months old. Should be coming to me for an assessment in the next few days to see working ability.
Will keep you posted on the progress of both.
