I'm moving house soon and want to take my blackcurrant bush with me. It's planted in the ground at the moment and is pretty small as I only bought it last year. Just wondering what the best way to move it will be at this time of year? Should I dig it up and pot it now, ready for an April move, or wait until close to moving day and then dig it up and transport it bare-root, straight from one piece of land to the next? Thanks. :)

They are pretty hardy. I'd pot it now and maybe leave it in the pot (large) for the year then plant it out once it's died back in the autumn. It will probably survive either way but might not produce much this year.

Thanks Rosemary, that's really helpful. Have just taken advantage of the beautiful sunshine to get out and pot it up as advised, so fingers crossed...!
