butch was born on the 4th of july 2010 and went to piggy paradise on 1st march 2011
now butch was a pedigree tamworth (castrated)
he had a happy existance playing with his sister outside even in the deep snow both of them were fed sow nuts(16%) twice a day 2.4k or 5.53lbs between them he weighed 116k on the day and weighed92k with head bones and pluck
backfat 40mm/1.5 inches
eartag still intact and readable slaughter house stevenson of dunblane (and you can buy pigs from them at £2.90 per kilo)

Oh no - wish you hadn't told me his name :o
Poor Butch :'( I look forward to meeting him tomorrow ;)
But that sounds like good weight/fat ratio's for the size/age of him.
Think I'm hugely overfeeding mine though if yours were getting 6lbs between them, or was it 6lbs at each feed ?
£2.90 a kilo - is that ourdoor reared at that money ?
-
that weight betwean them so they are getting in total2.4keach per day
small scale by industry standards intensive reared

yes indeed burp. just had our fist steak from big pig very nice. made 7.5kg of sausages and have 4 large bits of bacon to start tommorow. rendered down the first of 6 shopping bags of fat for dripping. gave up on the skin and gave the neighbour her head and trotters as the kids are a bit soft.
