- how long do I leave celeriac in the ground? They look good but could grow a bit bigger. I don't want to leave them in too long, a mistake I sometimes make and regret...
- Do I have to cut last year's asparagus or do I leave it as it is? It is it's second year, so should be the first year to harvest. :&>

Hi there - genreally I cut my asparagus fern before the winter winds come to rock the plants and damage the crowns, and I try to cut below ground level so the asparagus beetle has nowhere to overwinter.
My celariac growing is so poor I have given up on it ::)
All the best

My asparagus didn't last to year 2 so I have more seed to start again ::)
As for celeriac, I've never got more than a golf ball, still trying ;)

I too have tried and failed with Celeriac, but my dad has great success, i cant quite remember what he told me so will find out for sure but I think you may have to either earth it up or pull off the outer leaves to get it to swell. Watch this space, I will ask when I next phone him.
