I've taken on a smallholding with a grazing. The land hasn't been grazed in a while and I had the longish grass mown before I moved here. However there is still a reasonable length of grass and I'd like to convert this to meat ASAP. I'm keen to get some sheep grazing it so that I'm on top of the grass before it starts to grow again in spring but am not sure whether I can pick up grazing stock that I can finish at this time of year. Any advice?

as a quick fix you could try some store/feeding ewes maybe at a rate of 3 to the acre. when the grass is gone just take them back to the store market to re-sell. or if they are fat enough to the fat market
