Title: Anyone Else Sick Of The Rain???
Post by: Hairy Hogs on February 21, 2011, 03:39:41 pm
I Am! ;D

Hi everyone, that headline must have got your attention?

We are in Buckinghaamshire, and despite being relative newcomers to rare breed pigs, have managed to accumulate a fairly respectable sized herd of sows and boars with which to work.

It appears that a lot of people see fit to register when they have stock to sell, questions to ask etc...........this makes us different, we have nothing to sell untill next week! ;D ;D

On a serious note, this website has a nice friendly feel to it and if I can offer any assistance to others on this forum it will be my pleasure to try!

Kind Regards All
Jason

P.S.  When will it ever stop raining, and the ground dry up? :pig:

Seems I'm not alone in the flamin mud then! :o

Just moved  3 Berkshires and 3 G.O.S that are due for departure Monday, into the paddock with 2 Tamworths in also due for departure Monday!  Tamworths promptly destroy pig wire and depart through fence into another paddock!  I only repaired it in readyness this morning!

My beloved Sara was helping, and laughing in yet more bloody rain!!!

Tis sure to look 'cheerfuller' on the morrow!

Hi and welcome from dry Carnoustie

The flooding is now subsiding in our field - made it to the hens in boots rather than wellies and only the bottom of my jeans got wet. Been lovely here today, although overcast. Birds were giving it laldy and it really felt like spring. Consequently, I'm bushed.

Hope you enjoy the forums - we aim to keep things positive and be supportive and helpful to all.

Hi and welcome from the Scottish Borders where the mud is halfway up the wellies, only plus side is that my pigs wont be arriving until the middle of april at the earliest so hopefully things will have dried up by then.

Hello and welcome from north west Leicestershire. Our bottom field is just getting trashed by horses and pigs are digging for Australia! Totally sick of it!

Know what you mean about mud though!!!!!! Its a wonder theres not more posts about foot rot in smallholders  ;) ;) Ooops, WELCOME!!

Hi and welcome from North Yorkshire.   At this time of year I always wonder if the grass will ever grow again over the muddy quagmire.

Hi from Aberdeenshire, my fields are trying to become wellie thieves and almost succeeding!!  OUr mud is horrific, was supposed to be taking 2 of my horses to the royal northern spring show next week but, not with this mud, no access to stabling, no hardstanding, think I would be in with a chance of winning muddiest horses.

Raining again today, keep us posted on your piggies!
