Very pleased to have followed a link and found this site.
I'm not actually an accidental smallholder...It took best part of 2 years..46 viewings..hundreds of house details and serious amounts of money to get here.
We have 15 acres and loads of outbuildings and a solid farmhouse.
We breed Lleyn Sheep..about 15 breeds of traditional and rare breed poultry..mainly utility and a Welsh Cob Mare.
A very productive veg garden and first class land...
TIP. If your looking to get a smallholding, look at the land first..You can do up the house, if need be, but doing up the land is really really expensive and labour intensive.
Looking forwards to joining in..

Hi and welcome. On the accidental bit I come down firmly on your side, my husband on the other hand, did not know he was going to become a smallholder until the animals arrived. Not sure if he could be classed as accidental or coerced. He loves it anyway.

Hi and welcome. You're spot on about the land - it's a bit like location - you can change a house but you can't change the location.
