Post by: princesspiggy on January 17, 2011, 06:27:25 am
my new sheep are in-lamb for april. is it wise to worm them now as they have just arrived or wait until they have lambed? i have oramec oral and panomec injections, but neither mention pregnancy in their smallprint.

I also wormed my three ewes with Cydectin before putting them to the ram at beginning of November - for April lambs? I do not know of any conflict between Cydectin and pregnancy (I try to avoid handling them during pregnancy to minimise any risk of miscarriage - although wormer drench is fairly easy to give).).

We wormed all ours a couple of weeks ago at the vet's suggestion despite one being imminent (now delivered)

Our vet advised worming / fluking when they move from the lambing pens to the clean grazing with their new lambs.
