Title: just my luck
Post by: ellisr on January 16, 2011, 09:40:28 pm
My car has just died, I am so upset as I don't have the money for a garage and not enough mechanical knowledge to replace the head gasket on a landrover :'(

my van died on me today as well - must be something in the air. I've no idea whats wrong with it. Turn the ignition and it doesn nothing

but ll the electrics and stuff work, so not the battery.

i had just loaded it up to head off to the tip as well - so had to then unload it all again

What rotten luck.  Know the feeling. Our clutch on the 4x4 went, got it back and starter motor went .......eeek, two big bills all at once.

Why does everything happen all at once?
To raise some money I am putting my jewellery out to bids. Visit shoebox jewellery designs on facebook and you can leave bids on any of the designs in collection photos. So grab yourself a bargin or 2

I make jewellery to sell so that isn't a problem I just have a bid system going on my shop on facebook. It is definately the head gasket that has gone. To make things worse the OH got sacked because we couldn't get a hire car until today

You can just keep rebuilding a landrover so not to bad, but need to raise cash as OH lost his job today because he didn't have a car yesterday

I have a guy who is going to help from landyzone.co.uk, I just have to get the car to him and buy the parts and he is going to show me how to fix it. That is why I'm selling off my jewellery designs very cheaply

What rotten luck, and a rotten way to treat somebody.

I found a patch of rust on the back bumper of our Landy yesterday, so I poked it with my finger...... which went right through! £500 worth of rear cross member required before next MOT!!  >:(   (Oh, and Lillian - it turned out the gearbox problem was just a simple matter of topping up the clutch fluid!).

same for me - I had a "new" gearbox fitted a few months ago, then we were snowed in for 4 weeks. then I took 3 journeys and the new one broke - I just about made it home the other day with warning lights and all....a few hundred pounds lighter and just past the warranty for the part I am utterly miffed! Wish I had never exchanged the old one, at least I could drive with a leak! :&>
