Hi when would you guys say was a suitable age to move the moms and piglets back outside and into Arcs again? They'll be in seperate enclosures with dad next door. No urgency just wondered as they're growing really quickly.

Ahh arcs planned to use them out here in Northern Spain but my application got rejected "not used here" so as a result at sunrise I let them all out and sunset I let them all in (to the holding barn). Re your question the sooner the better I would supposs, subject to weather how well your Sow get on with any others that may be in the same field.

It's personal choice Helen, if all the piglets are looking fit and healthy and the weather's not too bad they could go out anytime. Are you still using the heatlamp ? If so, you'll need to kinda wean them off of that (as it were) before putting them out - but providing they do okay in the barn without it I see no reason not to let them out.

Thanks Karen. Yes they're still under the lamps but will start to raise them up this weekend. In my mind I'd thought about 2 - 3 weeks inside then out but theyre growing faster than I thought and they may just be too big for the pens in 3 weeks. Amazing how quickly they grow.
