I always use Baby wipes dipped in warm water. Get the hen under your arm with it's bum facing forward and goe against the grain of the feathers.

be strong, be brave and be prepared to get wet!!
(sorry, I'm no help at all!)

warm water sponge and mild soap, soak and scrub the dirty spot, towel dry then sit in front of a nice warm fire with her until you both dry off, thats how i do it, oh and good luck

And don't forget the nappy under her bum ;D ;D ;D

Remember to rinse well- that's important. If you can hold them properly (by one hand underneath her, holding both her legs through your fingers), then you have the other hand free to do the washing. I would normally just wash them over the sink.
Towel dry, and then leave her in a cage someplace warm to dry- I pop the cage near the radiator.
