Hi All
Greetings from a damp SW Ireland where we seem to get the most rain in Europe but that is why the land is so green.
Moving into the Family farm and have the "loan" of 5 acres.
Just bought 2 pigs to start and waiting for milder weather to get the plough out.
First time "farmer" but rearing to go

Hello from me in Lanarkshire
You'll not go far wrong with pigs (in my allbeit biased opinion ;)) and you'll not really need the plough once they get going - maybe a roller to flatten it all out though ;) ;D
What breed have you got (sorry, I'm soooooo nosey !)
Look forward to hearing more from you

Hi and welcome from Sue in a wintery white Worcestershire.
Snow again this morning and apparently the traffic everywhere has ground to a halt as the roads weren't gritted.
Still I don't need to go out, and its not cold enough to freeze the pipes again thank goodness -
All the best Sue

Hi! Welcome from snowy north Wales. Are you ploughing to replant pasture or are you going to grow something?

Hi all
Thanks for the greeting. I bought 2 Tamworth due for delivery in 3 weeks and investigating buying 2 more. :-\ Plenty to do with new fencing before they arrive.
Rooster and 3 hens arriving on Friday but a little stressed over that because of the amount of mink around us. My OH has this as her project.
Grew 1/4 acre of potatoes last year and they are now gone. 7 of us in the house.
Have to do some ploughing so that I can reseed some land and spread lime. I need to enrich the soil because it has become overgrown with gorse.
