Title: Ketone monitor
Post by: Bywaters on February 12, 2024, 11:50:03 am
Looking for advice please

I'm going to purchase a ketone monitor

Any recommendations ? I'd like to be able to purchase the strips easily as well, so if there are any which use "generic" strips I'd be interested

Thanks in advance

I'm sure lots of members are asking why ?   I'm guessing twin lamb / ketosis  since its in the sheep section , if a sheep is already ill then you can smell pear drops on its breath

I want to catch before the illness stage if possible

We have one or two "old ladies" . Prevention is better than treatment

We’ve always got on well with energy buckets to prevent twin lamb. Either lifeline or rumenco maxx. Only really had twin lamb twice- once was when I was in bed with flu and the lifeline bucket ran out, the other was a quad bearing ewe who just needed careful nursing to lambing.
