Look what Santa bought me - tried it out last night, not bad for a tenner from Asda. Came with mains & car charger.

Did anyone else get anything useful......?

Those torches are essential. As well as for finding black lambs in the night, mine is used for seeing off people 'parking up' opposite our house :o - just shine that into their cars from the comfort of your own front door and they soon drive off ;D ;D Also great for investigating strange noises around the place without having to go too close.
I got a stainless steel compost bucket for the kitchen :D Now I just need the rest of the kitchen to match ;)
-
Worked in a few commercial stainless steel kitchens - be good if your can soften it up a bit with wood - I ended up black and blue from bumping into things in the heat of service.
Yeah these torches are good - thing is I've just seen a 2 million CP one - I can see this turning into an arms race.....
Have a great 2011.

I'm awaiting delivery of my birthday present........a purple wheelbarrow......a clean one! :farmer:
-
First you start with purple - then yellow - where does it end a rainbow spectrum of barrows.....

Do they have pink ones? My orange one has after many years service sprung a leak - it was just a B & Q cheapy chat but been hard at work for nigh on 10 years.
-
I had a new camera - so expect lots more animal pics ;)
and socks / scarves/ very nice leather gardening gloves (continually drying them out at the moment - first use on Christmas day to go to the animals!)
we had a major flood in the kitchen following frozen then burst central heating pipe... so hopefully the nice Insurance people (when they are back off their hols!) will be helping us get some nice new shiny things...
-
I've seen pink wheelbarrows about, they are definately colour co-ordainated now.
I got a Tefal actifry, an expensive chip pan from what I can see. I hate chips nearly as much as much as cooking. Do you think he is trying to tell me something?

A GOS pig! well a voucher that can be exchanged for a pig by December 2012. So that means 2011 is definitely the year that we move out of London and start full size smallholding. ;D and a book written by the River cottage head gardener (a taste of the unexpected) all about growing unusual fruit/veg/spices/herbs.
-
Santa was very good to me this year and paid a visit to Joules clothing which is a bit of a luxury for me now!! I was also supplied with a few bottles of southern comfort, chocolate and books on growing veg :)
my 7 year old asked for a cockerel which was cute :)
Just got giggles imagining fleecewife flashing her torch at people 'parking up' ;D
-
Yes, you can get pink barrows. I already have an orange B&Q one but that's used for all the dirty stuff, my nice clean purple one will be for moving haylage across the fields etc.
I love the idea of the pig voucher, would have got one of those for the oh if I'd known where to find one around these parts.
-
new wellies - the super warm muckboot ones ;D
-
Whoooooooooooo I know Mr Joules very well !!!!!! ANyway, my bestest EVER gift was to be with ALL my daughters and gain a wonderful husband...money cannot buy that and I do not need anything else...mind you, I would have loved a twin tub!!!!
-
Damm missed a trick with the "Flashing" quote - might attract them not scare then away....lol
-
Bought the same flashlight for my nine year old and he loves it (so does his Dad so I'm keeping a close eye on it!) As for me _ OH bought me a tool kit and a padlock (?). Santa bought me two excruciating migraines resulting in four days in bed between Christmas night and Thursday evening - Definitely not the best Christmas I have ever had. :-[
-
My Santa present just arrived - 24 bottles of water!
-
I got a cordless drill and a kettle to use on my gas stove when I go to my allotment. :farmer:
-
we asked everyone to give us 'practical' gifts this year and it was fab! my sister bought us a sack barrow (how coool was that!), gardening gloves, trowels, etc, warm socks, walking boots.....it was heaven. cant wait for snow to leave so i can get started!!
-
A Swiss army knife with a good sized locking blade and a wickedly sharp saw. And a bottle opener...
-
oh got my OH a cordless drill and screwdriver, he has no excuses now ;D ;D ;)
-
I have visions of you pushing the sack barrow around on Christmas morning like we did when we were kids, I bet we all had times when we got bikes or prams and were so excited to use them!! I love stuff like that too....we are doing some major alterations this year so I bet for next Christmas I will want a hole lot of gardening stuff.....wheelbarrow, pumps, shovel, brush, hoe, rack, spade (no we bought a posh one last year) shears, secetors, hammer, torch, lights, chicken plucker, feeders................on and on and on! :0
-
Santa Claus was very kind to me and brought me a new camera (so more pics from me like little blue), also (on request) he brought me some nice new shiny hayracks for taking to shows. He also brought me loads of chocolates which isn't so good for the diet!

I like the pig voucher idea, though not so keen on 24 bottles of water :-\
I had a nice pair of llined wellies, and some shetland wool jumpers, an alpaca cardigan (can you notice a warmth theme building here) plus an old copy of Lewis Wrights Book of Poultry, and a very interesting copy of a diary written in 1837 by a footman working in London - though I have to admit I bought the last two myself, wrapped them and gave them to my mother for her to give me on Christmas day (well she is in her late 80's and doesn't get about much now - or at least that is my excuse)
Happy New Year All
Sue
-
fab sue, great idea. think i'll do that with the people that give me 'strange' gifts next year! MIL gave me a french manicure set!!! i ask you!! if i'm not up to my elbows in soil then i'm mucking out or cleaning out the chickens - what on earth would make her think i would EVER use a french manicure set!!!!!???
anyone looking to spruce up their image????? ;D
-
Ummmm :-\ . If your fingernails are anything like mine she probably thought you NEEDED rather than wanted a manicure set
all the best
Sue
-
LOL! never thought of it that way.....
-
I thing Christmas is far too comercial, I love the idea of kids toys, nice food drink and TV! mind you, if I were rich I would buy things like a Landrover, washing machine, trees etc..

Believe me Sue, it was very welcome - and a repeat would be good too. Still no water since 23rd December
