We've had our fair share of disasters in Cumbria, thankfully last nights earthquake never had too much effect but it was certainly scary. :o

Earthquake ? OMG ! Was it bad ? There was one here (but I was just a twinkle in my daddies eye, and a look of terror on my mothers face at that point ;)) didn't do any serious damage - hope all's well with you ?

Wow! There was one in Stirling about 13 years ago. Dan lived in a third floor flat in Doune and his flowerpots fell off the windowsill - outside! THankfully noone was underneath ;D

My friends in New Zealand have suffered 3350 aftershocks since their major 7.2 earthquake a couple of months ago. I doubt if anything we have in this country could match the devastation they have survived through. Their home may have to be pulled down, their kennels have been flooded, there is liquefaction everywhere. I feel so helpless beign so far away, but they are fighters and will get through it. I hope your one in Cumbria didn't do too much damage. I am sure it would have been very scary.

There was a loud thud and lots of shakin/vibration, not what you want when you're on night shift on a nuclear plant. I think they said it was 3.5 on the richter scale.

and that would have been about 9.9 on the crap your pants scale for me ... I would have been out of there like a rocket....
cheers
