Title: Ewe Lamb mucky back end

Hi Folks, This is my first time of posting on this website. I have been reading and enjoying it for some time.

We have 15 ewes and a separate group of 5 ewe lambs all about 9 months old.

They were all treated with HeptVac about 1 month ago. One of the ewe lambs has had a mucky back end for about a week. we cleaned her back end and put her in a stall inside with a companion in the next stall, seemed to improve.

Now been outside with the others for a few days and dirty back end again.she is still very interested in food and is taking fresh hay and hard feed.

looking for suggestions for a way forward. Should we just get the vet out ( Ouch ), or take a poo sample to the vet ?

Any other treatment we could try ?

she looks well and isn't tucked up, not standing on her own

Sorry don't know how we missed this , hope she is still ok  , take a poo sample from her and  maybe a collective sample from the other 4  take to vet and make sure to ask for fluke eggs as well as worm , once you have the results then you can go forward with knowledge ,no guessing

As Shep says.
A useful tip if you need an animal to be seen by the vet, it is usually much simpler and cheaper for you to take the animal to the vet than to call the vet to visit you. This include ewes mid delivery with a problem. Our vets are used to all sorts of livestock turning up in every shape and form of vehicle - a trailer gives best access.
