Does anyone know of anybody who breeds Poulet de Bresse in Great Britain?
-
If they do then legally they are not allowed to call them Poulet de Bresse as the name is protected by French and European law. I don't know if the names of the 3 varieties can be used (Beny, Bourg, Louhans), may sometimes be sold under the name Gauloise in the UK.
It is very rare that any live birds leave France, though a breeding flock was exported to the USA in the 1980's and go by the name Blue Foot.

I live in France and I don't think you'll get them in the UK they are the only chickens I have seen in the shops, they have an A.O.C. (Guaranteed Origin Appellation) It means they only come from one area (like Bordeaux wine or Champagne) . They are bl**dy expensive I know that much.

Oh bu##er I really fancied some of those :'(

If it's the colours that have taken your fancy, why not breed your own version?
