Title: Free to kind home - V. Handsome Cockerel Maran/Old English Pheasent Fowl cross
Post by: happymanoftheworld on December 11, 2010, 07:26:13 pm
He is absolutely stunning but unfortunately he is bigger than my two Old English Pheasent Fowl and I can see trouble ahead come the spring. He is completely free range and anyone who would like a brilliant cross could not do better. p.s. his dad was First in the Strathaven Exposition this year. I do not want any money for hime, just the assurance of a kind home. Thanks (You can phone me on 07 957 957 109) ;)

Hi Princess - I live in Scotland (hence my website www.scottishrarebreeds.org.uk) near Strathaven 20 miles south of Glasgow but commute every weekend to Manchester (musician at weekends).

Been thinking P.... arae your chucks 100% free range or in runs? Reason - it would be better for the breed strength to swap cockerels but mine are never penned and wouldn't take kindly to it ---- unless there is plenty of girls to keep them occupied. ;D Regards - Stuart (where are you based?)

hi, theyre kept in an orchard at present, but has 6ft fencing, about 10m by 15m, but thats a non-breeding pen. if i get breeding family together theyl be in a bit smaller area that has plenty of trees, but has a pop hole into small paddock(1/4acre) which will be shared with some goats, also fenced 6ft. any more free range than that and they get snaffled by foxes in the woods.(learnt hard way)
my stock is from coulson poultry, strichen. i could offer choice of 2 cockerals. this years hatch or 2 year old. both very nice but i think younger is better bird. wer near peterhead but i cud deliver after new year.

That sounds great - the younger one would be better purely because he will know his place!!!! Saves bloodshed!
Peterhead is a b. long way from Strathaven though. My birds were hatched from eggs from England a couple of years ago and as I said, they won first and second this year at the show. Also Peterhead??????? I made three big mistakes years ago 1/- got married 2/ to a teacher..... 3/and from Aberdeen ;D I got better though! ;D ;D ;D---Best Regards.

YES - definately a rabbit show --- on my defunct railway embankment - thousands of them!!!! Quite a few black ones as well...... I do not allow rabbiting on my land but must admit that the buzzard population look fairly well fed. :) Oh! And regards beautiful coast ---- is that after the Trump environmental improvements???? :'( >:( (I am a Trippinguptrump person) ;)
